Ask Gary???

Gary, some of my students Brush their dance Shoes either before, during, or after, my lesson with them which causes alot of powder to spread all over the floor and I have the extra work and time to clean up . I don't think this is fair and want them to brush elsewhere. How do I tactfully explain this to them?

Just like you have to me. Make an announcement in front of the class . They may not be aware of the extra work this is causing you .I know some Studios ask their students to brush their shoes over a bag, and others provide a brush and scoop so they can clean it up right after brushing. No one seems to mind if you explain the problem to them.

I don't brush the bottom of my dance shoes I use for Tango and the soles last for many years of constant use. If some of your Tango students are Ballroom dancers they automatically brush because the Ballroom floors tend to be slippery and they do need to constantly brush so not to slide during their footwork. Most Tango dance floors are not as slick and there is not need to brush...
